If you want to keep your Privacy, look no further!

Privacy and the NSA!

When I first said something about NSA wiretaps the Internet, you probably thought I was joking.   Well, it looks to be a real issue now a days and that is a problem!  So we have heard about the NSA will consider any encryption being at risk, so they will be keeping those encrypted data for later inspections. Privacy is everything in my book and this is a continuing series for those who want to know how to protect their privacy from thief and criminals.

Programs to protect your Privacy!

There are programs out there to help keep people from snooping on you.   Although it has gotten a lot easier because of Firesheep and most web sites now offer secure connections but not all.  This is where I suggest you use something like VPN4ALL and I’m not saying that because they paid me to say it.   I am saying this because they have become a sponsor for me for the whole year.  I get paid every time someone uses buys a subscription and they are affiliate links!   They’ve given me a free 1 year account and I really am impressed at how well they get around the library restrictions and that they are a OPENVPN provider.  There are others such as SecureVPN and CyberGhost VPN and even ProXPN VPN.  Each one has their merits and I have nothing against any of them.   I just have had a better experience with VPN4ALL and I think you will to.

Streaming Music and Videos

I’m no advocate for people getting around international borders to watch BBC and other such videos but you could if you wanted to and be able to watch Netflix and Hulu from outside the USA.  This is one of the many reasons I like this service because you don’t have to pay for watching a show that is being played over seas.

Online Activity

Keep your online activity safe from prying eyes and people who are looking to cause trouble.  It isn’t going to be bulletproof but it will at least help with coffee shops and if you use it all the time at home also.   You don’t have to look over your shoulder as much, figuratively, and wonder who is see the insecure connection.

Mobile Devices!

Another reason, I love this service is that you can take your Tablet, like my Acer 200 to a free wifi hotspot and not worry because they even have a very good PPTP(Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol) that allows you to use your device anywhere you may go and keep people from spying on you while you on an un-encrypted free wifi hotspot.   So you can sit back and watch or do what you want and no one will know or see your actions.  You can use this for Mobile Phones also but that is totally your call.   I use it strictly for my Acer 200!

30-day money-back guarantee

Although this has some conditions, and I will be honest with you it is really always a full refund.  You have to have use under 100 megabytes of data or have some other issue that has been document with a support ticket and usually they will refund your money but it is still a better way to go then not to have any privacy or risk your identity from being taken.   You owe it to yourself and others to protect your privacy and identity and give yourself and others peace of mind.  Give VPN4ALL a try and Save 15% with Coupon Code “savenow15”, and I am sure you will be as happy as I am when I’m at a insecure location.

Some current Threats in December

Win32/Mydoom.R

[ad#ad2-left]

Win32/Mydoom.R is an e-mail worm for Microsoft Windows systems. Its file is approximately 28 kilobytes long, compressed by UPX. After decompression, its size is about 40kB.

Upon execution the form copies itself in the %windir% using the name java.exe. It also saves a file called services.exe there. This file is a backdoor component, that operates on TCP port 1034.

The following Registry entries are set to point to worm executables:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACCHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\JavaVM
HKEY_LOCAL_MACCHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\Services

The first entry contains path to java.exe, and the other points to services.exe.

According to the information on all the website in order to fix this you must use some anti-virus software.

[ad#ad2-right]

WORM_AGENT.AHQV [Trend Micro], Dropper/Xema.189952.B [AhnLab], Dropper.Small.LQ [AVG], Trojan.Crypt.Delf.AC [Bit Defender], Worm.W32.Agent-1 [ClamAV], IRC.W.W32.ClickIt.D [Otros], W32/Trojan3.AS [Authentium], I-Worm.Agent.ez [Quick Heal], Win32.HLLM.MyDoom.134 [Doctor Web], Trojan:W32/Agent.GCK [F-Secure], W32/Basine.C [Fortinet], Trojan.Crypt.Delf.AC [G DATA], Trojan.Crypt.Delf.AC [Ikarus], Email-Worm.Win32.Agent.js [K7 Computing], Email-Worm.Win32.Agent.js [Kaspersky], Worm:Win32/Mytob.SD [Microsoft], Win32/Injector.BZ [ESET], W32/P2PWorm.AAK [Norman], Trojan.Delfinject.Gen.3 [PC Tools], Backdoor.Win32.IRCbot.apj [Rising], Mal/Basine-C [Sophos], Dropper.Delf.26624.B [Hauri], Email-Worm.Win32.Agent.js [F-Secure], Backdoor/W32.IRCBot.28160.C [Otros], AGENT.ARQB [PerAntivirus]

According to the information on all the website in order to fix this you must use some anti-virus software. This one is a variant and should be dealt with as if it it the actual worm.  It seems to be spreading through P2p and Email fooling the person into running programs.  So be careful out there.

Vista pleas for Acceptance!!

I’ve heard people talking about Windows Vista and how bad it is. I’ve decided to write a post about my experiences with Vista to better show you that Vista is not as bad as people say.

“I hate the User Account Control(UAC for Short)” I’ve hear people talking about how the UAC is so annoying, always popping up when you least expect it. It can be fixed in several ways:

  1. Disabling UAC You can do this by clicking Start and typing in MSCONFIG and going to the tools tab. Hitting the Disable UAC click Launch button!!
  2. Tweak-UAC — This little program is supposed to change UAC to be less annoying, or if you like to disable UAC for good. This program is good for Turning on AUC, Making UAC less annoying or Disabling it!!
  3. Live with it — This one is self understanding.
  4. Buy XP before it’s too late! — Yes that is right just go out and buy as many copies of XP before it’s too late!!

“The Aero Glass effect takes up to much of the system resources!” — I have a thought on this one. I’ve been using Aero Glass effects since I’ve had it but I’ve had to change some of the settings to better help my system handle it.

  1. Setting Aero Glass for best performance — Right click desktop, click Personalize
  2. Click  on “Open classic Appearance properties for more color options”
  3. Select one of the other propers like classic or If you want to use some of the other features of Vista put it on the Vista basic!!!

Now with these steps you too can have a pleasurable experience with Vista.  You can always go back and change them with little effort.  I am hoping with this little blog to help people understand that “Vista is your Friend”.  Also in the news,

Vista’s big problem: 92 percent of developers ignoring it

So that means not a lot of programs are going to even work with Vista.  Does that seem fair, I say not!!  Shouldn’t they start worrying about Vista since XP is going off the market?  You know they seem to think XP is going to live forever!!  I think we need to start telling these people to develop for Vista so we can get more programs working with Vista.  Vista wouldn’t be so misunderstood if they’d have compatible programs for Vista.  Just some thoughts!!

5 things Microsoft Vista doesn’t want you to Know!!

I’m starting off on this little epic because I’ve been using Vista for the past year and half. I have had so much fun finding these little programs for Vista. They’ve helped with making Vista a much more enjoyable platform. These programs I’ve had to search the internet for all these tips and programs.

[ad]

  1. Never Stop using MSCONFIG.EXEThis little program lets you do so many things in Vista it’s not funny. You can Enable or Disable UAC, pick the services you want to startup, or pick the startup programs. You can also use the performance monitor, or change the internet options in the Tools tab. You can speed up or slow down your start up time in vista with this little program.
  2. Shut down Auto-Defragmentation — Windows uses way to much resources with it constantly defragmenting the hard drive. This therefore slows down the startup and shut down time with Vista. This little process will greatly increase your speed. Just remember from time to time to do a manual defragmentation on your hard drive. Click Start>Click Drive>Click tools TAB>Un-Check Run on a Schedule.
  3. [ad]

  4. Speed Up the Interface — This little article explains some of the best kept secrets about speed and making windows Do what you want it do.  Making boot up time even faster and not slowing you down.  I thought I’d just link to this article because of all the valuable tips and tricks they suggest in it.  If you have any others just put those in your comments.
  5. Enable Readyboost — using a 2 gig or higher USB interface or Card will greatly increase your startup and shutdown routines in Vista.  You will not have to wait as long for Windows vista to boot.  Extreme Tech Did a very good job talking about this so I just linked to them.
  6. Disable all non-needed programs from startup — Most of the time at startup you get all these programs that you don’t need or want.  Disabling the programs you don’t use will greatly increase your speed.  Be advised that some programs need to be run at start such as Anti-virus, Anti-Spyrware, and Firewalls and other such things like that.  Don’t advise you disabling all of them just the onces that aren’t needed or wanted.  To disable the programs run Msconfig.exe>click startup>Un-check programs that you don’t want.  Reboot and your there.

I hope you like what I posted and remember that there is much more to come in the future.  I will post more later.  Enjoy

Now if you are me you do your research? It’s spam, they try to scare you into buying there little product and is really stupid!! It says I’ve got Trojans and spyware but yet, It’s not ACTIVE X. I’m thinking its Java look a like!! If you get something from Skype like this just disregard it. If it’s an update from Microsoft it comes from the update Microsoft screen not from Skype!!  (DO NOT INSTALL SOFTWARE)

So I am guessing this guys in in Europe. It was created on Oct 2007, so this site is really new!!  This person shouldn’t be scaring people like that, Go email them an complain!!.  I’d also go to the skype abuse website and let them know. I really hate people who try to trick people.

There is this possibility that it is Malware. Go check out this topic:
Malware Computer help?

I’ve also seen another forums post that it might be a virus people talking about it slowing down there system. Check this article out!!
