Video: Daily Debrief: G1 soon to hit stores

I found some other sources and wanted to talk about them!!

The Daily Wireless also has a review on it on there site. I also found The Boy Genius talks about there review also. They all seem to look favorable to the G1. Engadget also talk about it looking at the expectations of the G1. So far everyone seems to love the G1. All in All, I think the Iphone is in for a rude awakening. There Seems to be a Good Video on what the G1 Can do so I wanted to also add this to my list of Information.  This is Coming from Wall Street Journal:

This all seems to be very interesting and I can’t wait to get one in my hands

White House is Open to a new Stimulus Check Yet again?

The Economy is still trying to rebound after being told that there is a recession coming our way.  Can they actually make the economy better by introducing even more money?  Did it help the last time around?  The 2008 Stimulus Check that they released doesn’t seem to have made a great amount of difference.  So why introduce even more money into a economy that will have to bottom out, sooner, or later.

[ad]

You see having the economy bottom out, is actually good for it.   It clears away the dead and creates life, just like a forest fire it will create even more life in the future.

So what about this New Stimulus Check that the White house is thinking of doing?  Are we going to have to pay more in the future for this so called free money?   I am curious as to what people think about this?   Do you want another Stimulus check or should we let the economy fix itself?

According to the Swamp, White house open to new ‘booster shot’, in the article they talk about this boosting our economy but I don’t think so!!!  It will not boost it just make it even harder to bottom out and will most likely cause it to last even longer. Is it even going to make much of a difference, you decide.  I want to hear you opinions.

AVG detected trojan ; Generic11.BEOG

I had a Friend tell me his system detected  this Trojan GENERIC11.BEOG.  I did my research and right now.  It looking like Adobe added something to there recent updates *see updates below*.   I’ll  Have to check with some other sources but it looking like AVG over did it again and found something that might just be an AVG issue.  (correction)

[ad]

I usually wait before updating something like adobe.  It is sure to be some minor change to adobe but if your are worried here’s the link to watch and see what people are asking or talking about this false positive:

Malwarebytes Security Forums

It seems that AVG is calling this possible virus but yet it looks like it is a false positive.  So don’t you worry.  If it was a true virus you’d probably would never know!! 😉

*UPDATE*

I installed Adobe 9.0 and updated the virus scan database for AVG.  It hasn’t found any thing yet but I am still scanning my system.  I’ll let you know if it finds this false positive on my Vista machine!!  I’m doing this to test it out!!!  Come back later to find out the results of the test.  (if you like this website by all means google this website so it too can be on google trends.   I want to see it be up on google trends for a day or two.)

*UPDATE #2*

Just did a whole system scan.  It did not find anything.  So I will be doing a reboot and scanning again.   It might be something that is attached to a PDF, if you went to a malicious website.   So I will do another scan.

*Update #3*

I just rebooted and almost finished scanning with AVG.  I still haven’t found anything wrong.   I have did some more digging into what might cause it.   I just did a look registry look up on {AC76BA86-7AD7-1033-7B44-A90000000001} and I found out something really interesting.   It’s a PDFFile_8.ico File.  This is tells me this is an Icon for the desktop.   I’m using one of the examples from Malwarebytes Security Forums to try to figure out what might be infected.

Here’s what AVG said after it finished scanning my system:

So I must assume that it is neither Adobe or AVG who have anything to do with this.  I will have to say that it must be a real infection as to not having any viruses after an install of Adobe.  How do you get this type of virus.  Check out my article on : Some Important programs to prevent yourself from having viruses and Malware!!

There you will find some useful tips on how not to get infected and other useful tools to help restore you system to it’s glory days.

So I will tell my friend to do a full virus scan and double check the results.  I can’t replicate the so called virus but I am sure there is something going on with the HASH files of the AVG Database and something might be coming back from the adobe install that has the same HASH files.  That also might be making AVG flag it as an Virus or Trojan.  I might never know though.

Backup your Mozzila Thunderbird profiles

So you have all this mail you want to back up in case something terrible happens to your hard drive.  So here is ways to backup your email and other programs in Vista.  I think Vista has a new way of keeping program profiles in an hierarchical setup.  So what is the HIDDEN directory it is:

[ad]

C:\Users\[USER]\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles

Now as you can see your Thunderbird profile is in a hidden directory in the AppData Directory.  You can easily get to the hidden directory by typing %appdata% {enter} in the search bar of Vista.  Now How do you backup and restore.   The program I use to backup is GoodSync I send the data to the cloud and when I need it I can restore it back to the directory. Now what about restoring, if you have to do a complete re-install of Thunderbird you can always copy over the back up to the Thunderbird Profiles directory and install Mozilla Thunder bird and it should see it.   If by chance you load up Thunderbird and you have to re add everything you would have to delete everything in that directory and then restore from the back up.

It is also a good idea to backup all the roaming directory from time to time.  This way you have every important program needed in case of a problem with your drive.    These are just a few tips and tricks to keep your data safe from having problems in the long run.
