Comfirmed: DHL to Lays off 10,000 workers!!

According to The Press-Enterprise has announced all 18 U.S. Hubs will close and that means 10,000 workers will be out of a job.  They will keep 3,000 for international business.   I wanted to tell everyone about this as soon as I found out.

There is a rumor that DHL might layoff some of it’s employees. About 8,000 Jobs will be announced to tomorrow when they release the earnings report. Now I know very little about this parent company but they have 475,100 employees and that would mean 1.6% of the people would be laid off!!

According to Business Week there Volume have been going down this year.

From what I can tell this will affect the Eastern part of the US. I’ve done a little digging for everyone to see just why they would want to layoff so many people. They have to reduce there spending because there Volume isn’t as it should. This will also effect delivery of packages, and might end up slowing the delivery of Christmas packages.  So pack those presents early and ship them off early, to make sure they get delivered before Christmas!!  To see other layoffs this year just click this LINK.  It will show you all of the layoffs that have/are/or might happen in the near future.

Obama Wins with McCain Leading the 2nd!

[ad#ad2-left]With Obama wining the Presidential Elections and McCain giving his concession speech.  We see a lot of potential going to be coming along.  I see the Democrats take charge of the US Senate.  I also see the House seats have gone to the Democrats.  So what is next for the next President, with the inauguration coming soon, what will the new president pick for the Chief of Staff.  I know he has some choices but which one will it be?

[ad#ad2-right]Some thing to consider with the Vice President is that it will be Joe Biden.  Now I don’t know very much about him but what I do know comes from the internet.  I wont’t say much because I don’t know much but I will direct you to the pages that I know about:

I will find out more in the coming weeks, but right now we are making history.  What is your responses on what happened?  Are you happy or angry?  Is the signs of even more economic instabilility?  These are all questions that we have to consider in the time to come!!

Economic Death?

Are we having an Economic Death?  If so how could we change that?  Is it to Late?  In a recent CNN release President Bush talk about the Economic Depression of the US.

And you know what. I am not sure how to feel about this. Should I be worried or do I have any reason to worry? Having said that I like to talk about the problems that we might face if we go into a more economic depression and how might that affect your lifestyle.

Having seen this coming the past year, I have been growing more and more uneasy with the way the U.s. Economy is turning out. Worried about paying bills off and earning enough money for my kids and wife. The typical situation for the average family. If your like me you have been struggling to pay bills and deciding on what is more important. You fixing your car or upgrading your PC/Laptop. These questions are undoubtedly going to cause problems with people who do work on computers to become almost non-existent. Not saying that is going to be to difficult to become truth.

It however will make peoples lives much more harder to deal with, or at least motivate people. Ever wonder what people would do if they were not motivated to do anything. Would they walk about the house naked or in there underwear?

You see there is always going to be a time when there will be hardships.  We must fight through them to see the other side.  They say the grass is always greener on the other side.   That is like the economy, it will fix itself over time.    I wonder how many of you are having to create a lean bank book?  Have you bought any new games or PC hardware or For that matter Software lately?  Are you planning on doing that in the next few weeks?  Are you worried about the finanical situation and do you think it will impact you?  Thease are all very good question to consider in the coming months.

CNN talks about Geek News Central

It’s only a day and some hours left before CES starts. CNN does something totally awesome. They talk about one of my Favorite Podcasts. GNC or Geek News Central on there website. Some of the major hitters Engadget, InTune Network, SlashGear, and Chip Chick. Which is a lot for these blogs. Means there will be people who read CNN and they will click these other Sites. I am so glad for Todd and these other sites because there will be more people to share the joy of podcasting and have them come our way. As you know Todd is the major contributor for Techpodcasts.com, which all the podcasters that I know are from that site. So more people will find more podcasts to listen. I am so overjoyed in this little adventure. It means Todd’s site is going to be busy the next few weeks. I hope we all help support his little endeavor and show our support for what he does. Good for you, Todd. You sure are setting a good example for podcasters.
