Getting the most out of podcasts!!

So you want to listen to several podcast a day and you don’t know how to do it.  I’ve had so many people ask me how do I listen to 10 to 15 Podcasts a day.  My rule of thumb on this is simple, look at what you throught the day and figure out how you can listen to them.  By doing the lawn, by doing the dishes, or cleaning the house.  You can even have fun and listen to them at work.  So let’s talk about what ones I like to listen to.   This is kinda hard because I’ve get 2 or three daily Tech Cruft which are:

  1. Buzz Out Loud [rating:4/5]
  2. The Gillmor Gang [rating:2.5/5]
  3. Computer America [rating 3.5/5]

What podcasts do I listen to more than once?  Here are some interesting the ones I like and Have really cool and great content.

These are the ones that podcast more than once a week.  They do it twice a week.  There is one that does podcast for several areas.  That one I like to listen to get my meat and get all the technology woes.

I like to listen to podcasts at work because it helps with fixing computers and keeps me up to date on what is going on the computer world. These are my favorite podcast and left the others that sometimes are good on an occassion but I do want to know what others listen to, I would like to get some better podcasts to listen too.  What’s your favorite podcast to listen to?  What’s the URL?

Record a Quality Podcast on the Cheap

MetaFilter founder Matt Haughey reveals his secret to recording the MeFi podcast between two Macs with simple software sans expensive hardware. Matt says:

I read a lot of podcast how-tos when I set out to do my own, and almost all of them are mired in technical details about microphone quality and USB vs. mixer board audio wankery. Most every tutorial about doing a podcast interview focuses way too much on studio-like sound quality achieved through your equipment instead of through software and a bit of clever thinking.

Matt’s trick is to record a Skype call on both ends separately, then combine the two audio tracks in Garageband to bypass any Skype sound quality problems. Genius! Hit the link to get the details.

What will XBOX Live do now?

After a long and hard last few weeks with XBOX Live being up and down. There has been a class action lawsuit file against them.

Lawsuit Accuses Microsoft of breach of contract, breach of warranty, and negligent misrepresentation for not better warning subscribers that the service could suffer the kind of outages. These outages have been going on for quite some time. A few weeks in fact.

Earlier this week Major Nelson who is working in Xbox and has a podcast stated that “the pending outcome of the lawsuit means no more updates can be given to the users and paying customers. The progress of the repair is forcing Microsoft to be quite about it.” The podcast that Major Nelson talks about this is:

Show #263 The one after CES

Does that mean Mommy is keep the child quite over this? I think so. I think Microsoft should be made to talk about this. This is customer rights and information and we have the right no know what is going on. We after all are paying for the service if your a Gold Member? Silver well you aren’t paying for the service so you really don’t have any rights. I think the government should step in and make them tell the truth. They have an obligation to the public whether they like it or not. Please leave comments on what you think!
