How to get the IATA Travel Pass Apps

These are the the links to go download the app that you will need for the IATA travel pass. I am not sure if the Google Play store app will change or it will still be that one in the coming months but it is definitely the one that looks to work the same as the apple store. Just surprised they used a different icon for the google app store.

When Can I join?

I answered this question the last time around and it still looks like it is going to be by invitation only. I am sure that it will open up quite soon to be able to use and get ready for the weeks and months to come to allow people to create an account for the near future that they are flying. I am sure it is still under trial in some airlines and they want to be as cautious as they can.

When will the Philippines open up?

This is my biggest question right now. As of last year the they have been on lockdown for over a year and no one could freely travel to the Philippines unless with a visa and certain requirements and or documents. They have said they are looking into the Philippines Airline Travel Pass and it seems they are still doing the trail for it until the end of May. This doesn’t mean they will not go longer or than May but I am hopeful that they start to relax the restrictions to allow foreign nationals and partners to come into country in the coming months. There have been speculation from friends of mine that it might June or July. I am thinking it will be August or October but this is all just speculation and will likely depend on what the Government will do.

Korean Air Travel Pass

According to some website they are doing the travel pass in May also from LAX to ICN and it seems to be about to start with the IATA travel pass. So I am hopeful that international flights will start to pick up and go places in the coming months. I still don’t know when the airlines will start to use the Travel Pass in full and how they will let the customer know they can use it or which flights it will be available on especially for the Korean Air but at least that is a step in the right direction. Although they seem to be just doing the outbound flights. I am hopeful they will start to do the inbound flights after they get done with the trial and to see what they may expect on the coming months.

That’s the latest!

I know this isn’t going to be a very popular post but if you are like me and wanting to be ready for the travel initiative to start and so you can just start the process of registering and creating the required documents that you may need for your flight. You can download and just have it on your phone for the time when you buy the ticket and get the invitation code to start the process of getting your identity ready for the flight ahead. You will just not be able to do anything with the IATA Travel Pass apps until you have the invitation but at least you will be ready for it when it is released to the public and or you buy a ticket to a flight that invites you to participate. I have been watching what has been going on in the past few days and thought it was high time I tell you about this nasty little worm or virus! It has been many months since I have talked about this and I wanted to help you understand how you might of been infected. If you have been infected and want to remove it, you can easily remove it by using Malwarebytes Pro, Which is a sponsor of my blog. Some would say it is coming from emails but I suspect it will get much worse before it gets better. If they are making money they will probably start advertising that you have a virus and when you click on the image you will be taken over to actually have the virus or worm as some would call it. It all started when scammers started infecting systems and doing the defederpageblock and others like that. They found they could actually make money by scaring people into paying. I even tried to help people by offering some great Antivirus And Antimalware tools to help fight off this types of infections.

So how are some ways to get infected? The basic ways are simple opening email links if you don’t know the sender. This is the most common approach by any scammer or spammer because you can’t really see where that link is going or even if they are trying to use a script.

Social Media is the next biggest way that you might get infected by clicking links in Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and sites like that. You have to be careful but most of the time you can expand the URL by using a service like LongURL. I sometimes use this to find out where a shortened bitly link or twitter link is going to take me.

Googling or Searching is the next way an attacker would install this type of software on your system. They would just use scripts, known vulnerabilities, to force install or silent install this type of software in your system and if you were using something like NoScript you would be much safer than if you didn’t!

Installing untrusted software can lead to you getting infected by this virus and others if you think you have to have a piece of software for something then please do not use your Windows Admin account to install this on. You should try to see what others are saying about a particular software or application. It isn’t always going to be fool proof but it will at least slow it down.

Now these are a few ways you could get infected if you were trying to get infected with this nasty virus. Which case you would be paying 300 US dollars or 2 bitcoins which is how they want to keep getting paid. So if you don’t want to find your pictures, and important data encrypted, please put them on a recordable dvd and put them up! This would be one step to help fight this little problem.

I havent’ heard if it has infected any Apple, Android, or Linux Operating systems it looks to be primarily Windows Systems. I can assure you it will happen to these other OS in the coming months so don’t think you aren’t immune to this and other malwares or viruses. With Android having exploits in the wild you can bet they will targeted soon to encrypted your contact list and your pictures. This would be my next bet!

I must add to my last inquire. I have had the htc inspire and did like many features of the phone. But I had an iPhone 3 before I ha bought the inspire. Just knew more about the iPhone then I did the htc. That’s why I like iPhone better. You do have a great site though.

As you can tell I got a very interesting email a couple days ago and I thought I would talk about this.  Most of you know I have an HTC inspire and Love it but I’m sure some of you probably have your own reasons.  I am going to talk about my reasons and some very good points.   

Reason why Android Rule!

If your have ever played on an Iphone you have probably saw how limited you are with the Operating system then how easy the Android Operating System is.   I have heard from people saying that there’s no viruses on Iphones, which is simply not true!  Although, I also know Android’s aren’t immune either but that doesn’t stop at them either.   When there was only one Operating system like Windows, then you had to worry about viruses since the day we started having a Operating System.     You can see the comparison chart that Amazon.com has done over the Iphone, Android, and Windows Phones [Affiliate Link].

Iphones Suck!

You heard me right.   I have never liked the idea of an Iphone and since the Ipad [Affiliate Link] started to come out.   I’m just glad Google Nexus 7 [Affiliate Link] is coming in July!  Even though the biggest fault Apple has had is that when they first started the advertising they boosted about not getting a virus but that turned out to not be true!  Some of the others things I do not like about the Iphone is the Proprietary information that they have over the Software and hardware.  I for one think that an Open Source operating system is much more likely to keep secured than an closed source Operating system.  I know I’m not the only one but it sure beats the idea that you can have security by keeping secrets.

No Operating System is perfect!

That being said for me, it is far easier to operating the Android operating System than it is to navigate and get your App approved by Apple.  You can get your app approved easier on Android than Apple because of their strict rules and regulations.   I’m not saying that it will ever be perfect, from from that idea but it shouldn’t take months to years to get your App on the Apple Marketplace.  Have you ever wondered just how hard it is to actually do that on Apple?  I’m sure it isn’t a easy as you think or for that matter what I think.   

Who Wins?

I’m going to ask you the reader, which one you like and what for.  Don’t tell me the Iphone and not give me any details.  I’m quite curious as to why and your reasons behind that.  You after all may make me change my mind.  If you think you can, then please feel free to comment and let me know.

How to hack without hacking!

I must admit this post will be one of those that you really can eat.   I’m not saying that you should hack but lately it has been so easy to discover some website to help enable people to hack.  After watching to Security Now Episode 339: ScriptNo for Chrome, I found out about the “Trend Netcam Problem” where if you have a Netcam on the internet all they would have to do is add “(IP address)/anony/mjpg.cgi” and you can find out some IP’s that have Netcams.  The fun part is if you just Google “/anony/mjpg.cgi” you can find a list of IP’s that might have netcams on them!

Pastebin can be useful!

I like to occasionally check the trends for Pastebin every so often because they usually have something of interest on them. I have found that Pastebin is an excellent source of hacking information. So many hackers are using this service that you never really know what you find from day to day.   You   can easily search the Pastebin site for stuff that you might want to check out.   I’m always trying to find stuff that I can use to help the community.  Sometimes though you find scripts that people have made for some reason or other but you get to see the script, so you don’t run the script but you can see the meat and bones.   If your a programmer, you will know what some of this is all about and what it is doing.

Finding Gems!

I never once said that keeping up to date is something that you should not do but it is something that you could do.   Every So often I see something that strikes my fancy and it should be announced to the world.   If your looking to learn how to hack there are of course places on the internet that will show you just that.  I on the other hand will not show you but tell you when something is going on that you should do for yourself rather letting the hackers have all the fun!

Aspects of Technology in Today’s Society!

Who’d of thunk it!

Having spent the last few years as technology had developed, I for one have seen where we didn’t have anything small.   We now have a lot in common with our past.   I am not saying that we are exactly like our past but we have developed something of a reoccurring theme.  I don’t know why I love to talk about Technology but I do think it is the way I have developed a certain love of the simplicity of it.   We’ve even come to the part of giving Technology as gifts, but when is technology more than technology?  That is the questions that we must ask ourselves.

 

 

We’re we are at now!

Many people have probably said we can’t go any further now in technology but I don’t think we are going to know for sure until it has happened.   Some technology is just not being used and others is used on a daily basis.   I would say that I user my personal laptop everyday and even have a few extra ways to be on the internet.  I know technology isn’t going as fast as we might think it but it is something that will forever be ingrained in our lives.  We’ve got people who can get the internet just on their phones and do not always need a computer.   I’m really loving how 20 years ago we couldn’t do that.  I shouldn’t say we couldn’t but I didn’t see it as a possibility.

Were are we heading?

I don’t know if  I can actually tell you that.   Technology isn’t always going to be in your face but we will do know it will be a change from what is going to happen. I will say only time will tell. I am quite curious as to what technology will do next but that is the future. I’d like to hear your ideas on the matter.
