How to stay positive with Quiet Quitters!

Nick Youngson – http://www.nyphotographic.com/ Pix4free.org – https://pix4free.org/

We all know one or two quiet quitters

I don’t say this lightly, I am sure you know one or two people who don’t do as much work as the rest of the people. You probably even started to get annoyed with them because they aren’t doing as much as you. There’s even a small chance that you have started hinting to the higher ups about them. You know I think they probably already know and nothing you can say or do will make them do the work like they should. You just have to admit and do what you can for yourself. You can’t control what others do or how they do their jobs. The only thing you can really do is make it a positive experience for yourself.  So the real question is how do you not get dragged down by the people in the office and always have a positive mindset.   I am going to talk to about how I do it when I need a pick me from all the negativity in the office.

Think about your future

This one has helped me tramendously, even if I have to work at the same job for a while, I am always thinking about what will come next and that always keeps me from dwelling on those who don’t do their jobs.   It isn’t always easy and that can be very challenging at times because who you might have to deal with and not get angry with.  It however isn’t the only thing I do.

Find Reason to be Thankful

This is something I do all the time, because when I am finding reason to be thankful all the negativity goes away.  I find coming up with positive things to say to myself every morning to help me get up and go to work.  It also helps me keep myself from worry about those quiet quitters as much because you know when your happy they don’t seem to bother me.  I am doing my own little thing and they can stay where they are.  It’s not easy sometimes and it can be quiet difficult to deal with them or work with them but sometimes that is just the price of getting paid.

Don’t Dwell on their inactions

It can be quite hard not to think about what they aren’t doing and what you are doing.   They will be bored or not doing much work for the hours they are there.  You probably have even dwelled on just how fustrating that can be when they aren’t working nearly enough.  You have to stop watching them because it will not help you.  This is another easy to say but hard to do, because we all see them and think how they are keeping their jobs?   That is their problem not ours to worry about and we should just keep busy and let them be.

 Find People who appreciate you

This can seem so simple but very useful.  Even if your current job people don’t appreciate you, those aren’t the only people who can show you appreciation.  You can find people who appreciate you all over the world not just in your little part of the world.  Even that small amount of people who appreciate you will make going to job that much easier and more enjoyable because they are the true reasons why you go to work.  Not the people there or even your boss, people who want you to be happy will always show you their appreciation and respect.   The job is just a job and that is where you will have to be but that doesn’t mean you can be happy at your job.   Let everyone else be unhappy but you can be happy and enjoy yourself at work.

Even these small recommendations will help you to get a better perspective on what you want to accomplish at your job daily.  Keep you moving forward and maybe even make you a little bit more happier than the rest of your coworkers.  Who know’s they are probably watching just because they want to be as happy as you and are trying to find out how to do it.  Do you have tips that help you with keeping a positive mindset?  why not share them and help others find ways to keep themselves happy.

How my blog experiment helped me and why!

“Failure is always an option” —  Adam Savage

Blogging is always a part of experimenting with what people will read and do.  I really don’t say that lightly because no one can ever truly know what will happen when you blog about a topic or come up with blog titles for your blog.  You could have the most boring blog but have the most readers because it has so many people who think like you.   I find that to be mostly true, the blogging niche is something that has always fascinated me when it comes to readers.   Who your readers are can be some of the best supporters of your blog or the worst depending on the niche.

The niche of things

What’s a niche, you might be asking?  A niche is according the the Cambridge dictionary is “an area or position that is exactly suitable for a small group of the same type:“.  What does that mean might be different to some but mostly it is a group of people who think or has the same kind of thoughts about a subject or idea.   For instance, I like security or even talking about Windows so I have people who like to read about that or maybe you are a technician who might need to know how to problem solve a situation.  Each of these people has a niche in a particular area and maybe even like to read what I have to say from time to time.  Understanding the niche is something that comes with experience and time.   It can’t really be seen but it can be used to grown your blogging experience.

Blogging helps me!

I can say since I started this experiment, it seems to have grown my readers base.    I also have found the blogging alone has helped me to research and understand what is required to do an essay.  While I am in school the teachers seems to want to make the students write essays as much as possible.   It has been a great help to me to have been blogging for so long that I understand how essays are being used to get students to research their area of expertise.  I think that it gives students a chance to make sure they are going in the right direction and that they will want to do the jobs when they are done with the education.  It’s been a great education experience for me since I haven’t been to college for 20+ years.   It has definitely changed over the years and I am sure that even now it will change in the future.

Water flows in many Directions

I can’t say that it isn’t something that not everyone will understand.   Blogging is like water, it will flow through people or around people who have little interest in the topic at hand.  I’ve learned a lot about my readers and who my readers are just by doing this little experiment.  I know what people like to read or even why they might like to read the posts I do.  I intend to keep this up in the future to help draw more people to my blog.   I am hopeful that it helps me to create even more  connections with my readers. I hope this blog has done you some good.  I am sure this will be an interesting year for everyone due to what happened last year.

How ‘Unrealistic’ Goals helps get stuff done!

Goal Setting

Everyone has a Goal in life!

Not to say that all goals should be an ‘Unrealistic’ Goal, but then again.   Having seen the power of being told I have some Unrealistic Goals!  It got me thinking, just how can some people consider my goals to be unrealistic?  It baffles me as to why people think they have to comment on these or write these down in hopes the person who has these goals can get hit in the stomach and try to deflate their balloon sort to speak.

It bothers me!

It always seems to be a point of contention when someone say something like having an ‘Unrealistic Goal’ or it will never happen.  As I’ve been looking for a job, I’ve been told several times to go flip burgers, or become a bagger for the local grocery store.  All of it has good intentions, saying I don’t have the luxury to pick and choice but then are we just telling people to be mediocre and thus setting ourselves to not be extra-ordinary?  Nothing in life is ever going to be easy, I’ve heard it and learned that fact in many ways.   I however think the God almighty has given my a desire to be more than I could be.   I want to be more than 100%, I want to be 101% or more.

My Goals = ‘Success’ and Their Goals = ‘normal’!

So your probably asking your self, what are my Goals?  I’ve got a few that I wouldn’t mind completing but those aren’t what I call ‘Unrealistic’.  I am going to share with you a few of my Goals that I hope to complete before I die.  Although these may or may not ever be completed it is something that I will continually strive for!

Finding a Job that I love — Nothing in this world will be everyone’s dreams.   It is however a dream of mine to have a job that I either have a passion for or is something that helps people with my knowledge and details.

My brother-in-law said that he graduated with an associates degree in History but yet he is selling cars.  He said we never get what we want.

I have a thought, are we defeating ourselves before we begin by telling people that we should be mediocre or Normal.   What is normal?  It is a definition that has plaqued everyone since the word has been used.

Being a Famous writer — Another one is to have people who know who I am far a wide.   I know with being famous you have to worry about all sorts of things.  Writing has always been my dream since I was a young boy.  When I first started this blog about 8 years ago, I decided to make some of my dreams happen.   My tenacity to be a writer far out weighs what people thought of me and thus my family never supported me in this endeavor.

Making a Connection to my Reader — Not that I’ve not tried, my dream however is to make more connections with my loyal readers and come up with a way to say thank you for all of them.  I haven’t come up with a way because I don’t know who would consider contacting me and talking about themselves and sharing their story to me and possibly my readership.  That is one idea, give them their lime light and I’ll be able to say Thank you on my blog to them.  To say thank you face to face would be ideal but that also might be ‘Unrealistic’!

As you can see by having these goals, I am saying to myself I will not give in to normal.   Having ‘Unrealistic Goals’ makes me want to succeed and not just sit here doing nothing.  If anything, it drives me to become a better writer, worker, and friend to everyone I know.

Those are just three of my goals that some people would probably say are ‘Unrealistic Goals’.   I don’t know I think each one has merits and possibly.   Am I saying that these will happen, maybe but in the scheme of things only time will tell!

It’s all about the readers!

I’ve not been one to say this much, but if your read my blog you know I care about my readers.  I’m not saying that I will make your jaw drop most of the time but there are times that I think a blog post and want to help others when it comes to writing your own.  In this article we will discuss some basic writing ideas that I’ve come to realize and want to share with you.  I’m sure others have said something similar but I’m hoping to make it more understandable for the common reader and writer.

Before we can start talking about writing and blogging which to me are the same exact thing, some others might think of them differently.   I wanted to at least ask you some questions that we will be exploring in this article.

  • Why are you blogging?
  • How to come up with a topic!
  • Know your Audience
  • Is there a Length limit?
  • What are you trying to accomplish?

When you started blogging did you think you should have more than one blog, I did. I even tried that in the last year but I found that I didn’t get any more money than when I was blogging by myself.  I love to read what Gail writes about on her blog when she does because I get the most insight into how to blog just a little more.  I must admit, I need to start having more RSS feeds and expand my reading to even more blogs.  I have started to create a bigger list of blogs that I think I will enjoy to read on a weekly basis and this is my hope that I become a better blogger for you and others.

Writing Topics

Having been blogging for a few years, I’ve come to understand that if you don’t use the right topic, no one will come to visit your blog or read your blog post because it just doesn’t interest them to click.   Some bloggers have done some great topics Like Shevonne, who writes about her new phase of life.   She tries to get the reader involved and make them see that their is more to her than just about blog posts.    If you read her blog post you will see that she actually does a great job at drawing the reader and making them think about their own life and what phase they are in.   It is more engaging to the reader to actually have something to relate to whether it be on a blog or in person.  Find a Topic and start typing, it really doesn’t have to be a big blog post but it helps if you let your mind wander and keep it coming.

Try to limit the Length of Post!

 250 is enough
A long post is easier to forget and harder to get into. A short post is the opposite.

Problogger

This isn’t always going to work when it comes to writing those blog posts.   I usually like to keep it under 1,000 words per post but I’ve found that sometimes, the more you write about a subject the more you will want to add to it.  Sometimes, you need to experiment and see what your readers will read and what comments you get from them.  I’ve even tried that with some of my latest blog posts but that isn’t always going to work for you and you should figure out what the sweet spot is for your blog.

Be Youself!

Trying to imitate someone is nice, and some may consider that flattery.  I don’t know if it is me or if your here just to because your found this article interesting.   Nothing can change who you are and who you will become, so just writing about a subject without at least adding your own flair of personality will not get you any where in getting people involved.   People want to connect with you and see your flaws and your personality more than they want to read a HOW TO or reviewing an product.   I’ve found this to be very true, if all your doing is just reviewing products, you may never see the true potential of revenue but if your connect with your readers in a blog post they will come back again, and again just because they want to see what else that makes you human!

Summary of the Post!

I’ve given you a lot to think about when you write a blog post and I am sure this isn’t going to be a
n easy article to digest but if your follow these rules then you will become a better writer and thus you will have people come to your blog more and more.   After all, if your writing about anything, you are wanting to connect with your readers in one way or another and that is the main reason for blogging for me at least.   Topics are only one way to engage the reader to come back time and time again.  I write to connect with my readers and If you liked this blog post please feel free to share it with your friends and family.   I’d love to hear your stories and comments because that helps me find out what I am doing wrong or what I am doing right.

Finding the Inspiration?

No one wants to write about something people would not want to write less alone come visit your blog.   Sometimes the only way to get inspired is to visit other blogs to get inspired.   It can be a difficult process to some but others it is easy.   It however depends on your writing ability and how you approach a topic.   We’ve all had those times when we need to come up with an idea and expand on it.  A lot of times when I write a blog post, I don’t come up with a title until I have wrote the post.   This is something that I have learned to do because it helps me find a good blog post name.   This is one of my tips for those who want to know how to blog.   I will give you several tips to help you

How Do I get Inspired?

I am sure some of you are wondering how I get inspired.   I am going to give you some important tips to blog and finding your topics:

  • Always think about Blog titles anywhere you go — This is something I always think about whenever I do anything from chatting with friends to working on someones computer.   I ask myself, “Is this a good blog topic?”, If you answer yes then you should write it down to use later on.
  • Dedicate so many hours a week to blogging — This is another important factor because without work you will not make any new readers come to your site.  I usually try to give myself an hour or two a day to write a blog post but some people will probably be different depending on how fast you type and what you write about.
  • Guest Blog — This also helps you get inspired and also brings you more readers to your new blog.  I want to bring more readers to my blog and I might decide to guest blog even more to bring more people here.
  • Find your passion — If you don’t have a passion, your readers will not see it and it will not draw more people to your blog.   The readers are coming to your blog for one reason or another.   That first impression can make or break you, so always right about things that you enjoy and know.

Don’t get Burned out!

This is also something that important to me and others.   I however don’t have a good way to prevent some blogs from having blog burnout.   I’d love to hear how you get past this little problem and help others get past that problem.  I know I have had that in the past and would love to learn new techniques to prevent that in the future.    How Do you prevent it?
