TGIF: Time to watch Babylon 5 Season 1 through 5 On the Roku!!

As many of you know I simply love Science Fiction shows and movies. This weekend I intend to sit down and try to start watching Babylon 5 all the way through. This will be a marathon for me, but I thought people would like to know you can watch these online through your Roku Box and Netflix Accounts right nows. You can also watch these on the Tivo if you have Netflix Subscription!! Since I don’t have the URL’s for the netflix I will show you where else you can you view these:

Babylon 5 is an American science fiction television series created, produced and largely written by J. Michael Straczynski. The show centers on the Babylon 5 space station: a focal point for politics, diplomacy, and conflict during the years 2257–2262. With its prominent use of planned story arcs, the series was often described as a “novel for television”.

I must admit when J. Michael Straczynski created this series he made it so you can watch each episode independently of each other but also create it where you could actually think of this as a novel for TV. Let me break it down so you can understand it just a little more, Each season has a season story arch but also a series story arch. For instance the first season we have character development along with understanding all the races. Season two has a season story arch about the impending fight with earth and series story arch of fighting with a new powerful enemy that is on the rise. I won’t spoil it for you but I simply love being able to watch these on my Television set without having to sit at my computer to watch these. I know with all the episodes available to watch on the Roku that I probably won’t get through but One or two seasons this weekend but I will continue next weekend to watch the rest of the series.

Hulu Brings on Paramount Movies!

As you can see Paramount has been seen at Hulu.  I thought I would talk about some movies that I could be coming to Hulu.  So let’s talk about some of them shall we.  I can see so many good movies:

  • Paycheck What seemed like a breezy idea for an engineer to net him millions of dollars, leaves him on the run for his life and piecing together why he’s being chased. full summary | full synopsis

  • The Saint Simon Templar has no real family, no real home and Simon Templar isn’t even his real name. Yet Simon Templar … more | full synopsis

  • Ghost After being killed during a botched mugging, a man’s love for his partner enables him to remain on earth as a ghost. full summary

So these are just a few that I looked up and can see them possibly coming to hulu in the next few weeks to months.  I am willing to bet most of the shows I’ve mention will come because they are the most adored by the public and others.  I will be doing even more searching later on!!!  I also think they will bring Star Trek : The Motion Picture but that is almost a given. I expect them to bring most of the Trek movies to Hulu being they have a lot of science fiction viewers.  If you have any ideas of what movies will come to Hulu by all means make a comment and talk about it.

How to get Hulu to add content!

Why do we want to have campaigns?  Easy in order for us to have what we want from hulu we have to get there attention.   It might work and it might not but getting the attention of certain companies is the hardest part of all.  Most of the time the higher rated television companies don’t want to have anything to do with streaming.  They feel it is taking away there core audience.

Is Hulu making it easier for us to watch what we want?

That would be a definite “Yes”  So what do we want Hulu to do?  Easy to put more television shows that we want to watch.  For example here are a few shows and movies that I would like to see come to HULU:

  1. Stargate Atlantis (Sci-fi Channel)
  2. Mythbusters (Discovery Channel)
  3. This Old House (PBS)
  4. Star Trek : TOS to Voyager
  5. The Matrix (all three movies)
  6. Touched by An Angel
  7. KyleXY (You can view it on AbcFamily.com)
  8. 7th Heaven

You’re probably asking how one person can get any of the shows or movies on Hulu?  One person probably couldn’t, but quite a few could.    How You might ask?

Here are Five steps to make it more possible to get what you want on HULU:

Step One . . . . Find people who are also looking to get the shows you want Hulu by blogging. Also by making a comment on the Hulu Blog.  The more people who talk about it and ask for it. The more chance the people who have the ability to do something about it will do something about it.

(*)Step Two . . . . Find an editor that you like on the Hulu Blog that has the same interests that you do and email them asking for information about that show.  You tell them you would like a tv program on HULU.

(*)Step Three . . . Do an Internet Movie Database search and find out who owns the rights for this.  Try to find someway to contact them and tell them you would like that show on HULU, explain why and how it could help them!!

(*)Step Four. . . . Blog about it or email your friends telling them how to contact that same company to be able to view that TV show on HULU for free.  Let them know the more who call the better chance it will eventually get on HULU!

(*)Step Five . . . . Do a Google search with the words “Hulu [Television show or move]”.  See if you can find other blogs that feel this way and make a comment to them about your blog.  The more that know about your blog and what you want on Hulu the better chance the right people will find out!

(*)Remember, Don’t Spam!

Although some of this is common sense, it takes more than one person to get your favorite shows onto Hulu.  I wanted to throw out these suggestions.  Most of the cable companies and movie companies don’t want you to stream the videos because they feel they are lossing money but we are the consumer know that’s not true.

This is why I made a blog post about this to better help people get power over these companies.  I feel streaming is going to live past the television age and they need to adjust to what people want.  If you feel like I do, tell people about this blog post or you can also go to my HULU DISCUSSION community area and post you comments there.

Remember We’ve got the power to change the world, one person at a time!!

Hulu is going to be big some day and I’ll be able to tell my grandchildren I helped make Hulu what it is today!! 😉

NBC continues anything-but-Apple strategy with SanDisk deal

It’s a day of the week that ends in “day,” so that means NBC is furiously working on yet another online TV venture that has nothing to do with Apple. Today’s announcement involves a partnership with SanDisk that will allow the users of SanDisk’s Fanfare service to watch current shows from several of NBC’s channels. In addition to several “vintage” shows, content from NBC, USA Network, the SCI FI Channel, and Bravo will be available through Fanfare beginning in January.

By “protecting content,” Perrette means that SanDisk will be utilizing its security expertise to implement some serious DRM on the video files. The companies plan to “explore the implementation” of watermarking and filtering technology, but neither elaborated further on what either of those things would entail. We assume, however, that NBC’s content will be strictly tied to the PC it was downloaded through, the TakeTV player it has been placed on, and its corresponding TV dock.

Well they are still trying to prove DRM is a good thing, I don’t think. I think it is a waste of time!! Oh well, Only time will tell!!
