Linux only: Applications like jUploadr are great for posting photos and editing photosets in the photo-sharing website Flickr, but its Java core can make it slow and wonky for some users. GNOME-based application Postr is a streamlined posting solution that features drag-and-drop file choosing, tag and description editing and, most of all, a clean, simple interface. Postr is a free download for Linux systems and available in many repositories. KDE-based Linux users can also check out Kflickr.

Star Trek Home Theater, Go Where No Man Has Left Before
This Star Trek TNG home theater is ubergeek in the absolute best way, which is probably why at CEDIA 2007 it was named the best theme theater installation. Featuring a quasi-faithful re-creation of the Enterprise NCC-1701D, motion activated “air-lock” doors and an alert button producing an alarm and flurry of red LED lighting are enough to keep us entertained even if, say, the theater were only 720p. While the owner wishes to remain anonymous and
we lack specs on the complete setup, the piece de resistance has to be one of the largest Kaleidescape hard drive storage systems in the world, with eight servers holding 3,816 DVDs. We’d probably be too busy drinking at the bar full of scifi memorabilia to watch our choice of Hilary Duff films, our minds blown at Robby the Robot hanging out with members of the Federation. Here are the stories for today. Thought These where interesting:
- Fake Codec is Mac OS X Trojan — Does that mean malware is starting to target more Mac’s than they used to?
- Microsoft Denies Sabotaging Mandriva Linux PC Deal — I don’t think Microsoft can fight this one they say no people won’t believe it and if they say yes well it would be over.
- Share Starred Items — This is very usefull if you want to share stuff you find on RSS feeds.
- gPhone OS Codenamed Android, Is Full OS With SDK? — Here is another G-phone Rumor and I am constantly seeing more and more on this subject so I am willing to bet it will happen.
- Turn Off Windows Defender — Yes, that’s right, it doesn’t do anything major and if you use other software to do the job it helps with the speed of the system.
- Saitek Cyborg Keyboard Decked Out Knight Rider Style — Nice little gamer keyboard, I would like to get this keyboard myself.
- Microsoft’s HD Photo Is Official JPEG Successor, Redubbed JPEG XR — Can Microsoft beat the other competitors, I do not know but it will be interesting to see!!
Sites I’ve seen of interest!

- More Useful Craigslist Searches with Yahoo Pipes — Craigslist is an excellent tool for finding great deals, but if you’re trying to put together streamlined Craigslist searches and feeds to stay abreast of a specific set of results, it can be difficult to build queries beyond very basic, inflexible keyword searches
- ThinkGeek Umbrella Shows You the Weather — You just have to see this Umbrella, it’s really nice but I am unsure why you’d need to know the weather if your already out in it!!
