[ad]If your noticed a new program on your system called PAV.exe, the filename is usually associated with [intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware Site[/intlink].    The interesting fact is that most of the time this is installed silently and should be removed Immediately.   The Good news SUPERAntiSpyware can block and remove PAV.EXE and thousands of other harmful applications.  So if you have this fakeware or I call it scareware, maybe it is time to buy SuperAntiSpyware Professional which comes with Realtime Blocking of threats! Prrevent potentially harmful software (spyware, adware, worms, dialers, hijackers, keyloggers)  from installing or re-installing.

  1. On a system that had been taken over by the scareware, the A/V software is useless most of the times since it is disabled by the scareware. The best option is to boot the PC in safe mode and clean up the registry and the scareware related files. One can also have a CD or USB based A/V scanner that can cleanup the mess. Once it is cleaned up, use Winpatrol to monitor and block registry and start up changes.

  2. Security and the family has made the keylogger software now very popular with parents. Keeping an eye on their kids. Is this a privacy issue?

  3. That’s really a good question. I think It all depends on the circumstances, I think it has some privacy issues that I may blog about!!
