List of Scareware Sites for Aug 10, 2009

When I told you on the last post that today would be a more complete list, I guess I was right:

personalantivirus3

  • antispywareonlinescanv4.com ([intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink])
  • onlinebestscannerv3.com ([intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink])
  • get-rid-of-spyware.com(Possible [intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink] site but is saying 403)
  • best-antivirus-security.com (Clone of [intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink])
  • personalantivirusprotection.com ([intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink])
  • virusscanweb.com ([intlink id=”3114″ type=”post”]WinWebsec Scareware site[/intlink])
  • (I will update during the day as needed)

More than like get-rid-of-spyware.com is the domain they are using right now to scare people into buying or install that [intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink].   Although this won’t help much with those warnings, in fact they will most like just keep hijacking your browser and send you to these pages.   Most of the time they want you to buy there Antivirus and try to persuade you by showing fraudulent software infections on your screen.  These types of software only make money they do not do anything else but to fool the person.   Then there are some sites that just try to alter the look just a little bit to get under the radar!!  You should never download or install software from these types of sites.   They most likely will have trojans, or create an even more scareware situation on the desktop.

More Personal Scareware Aug 9, 2009

personalantivirus3

This is going to be a short list but I am certain tomorrow there will be a bigger list:

  • bestpersonalprotectionv7.com ([intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink])
  • personalfoldercheck.com ([intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink])

The Personal Antivirus Scareware is notorious in URL Hijacking or coming up with warnings that your infected so you would buy there software or install there software.   These sites do nothing more than fraud because you pay for nothing and you install trojans or viruses in the first place.    If you think you have the software installed in your system and would like to get rid of it.   I recommend doing a full system and getting that software off your system.

Threat to System : Moderate

Advice : Do a Complete system scan and make sure you don’t have any more hidden malware.

I recommend :

Each one of these sites have something they want to try to get you to do. Some try to fool you into installing software to “Scan” for virus but in reality you are just installing a Trojan. Others like to try to scam you into buying there fake product so they can make money off of you. In reality this software does nothing to provide any virus protection. Sometimes they even use exploits to install onto the system. These usually have Pop ups or warnings saying you have a virus. There might be even a Web browser re director to the site in question. You should never download or install software from an Unknown source. Also you should never buy any product without asking questions.

  • pcantispyware-2010.com (Almost like [intlink id=”3977″ type=”post”]HomeAntivirus 2010)[/intlink])

As you can see there are a quite a few on this list for Personal Antivirus scarware.   These sites like to promote to you that they have found a virus by providing pop ups or messages on your computer.   They try to get you to download or Pay this product to protect your system.   In fact it is the one thing that is causing the problem.   There may be even more Malware on you system.   I recommend you do a full system Scan and Get all those Trojans, Viruses, And worms off your system.

No scareware Thanks from no-spyware-thanks.com

personalantivirus3

[ad]This just poped up on my radar, and I wanted to let people know about this [intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink] site.  I’ve been talking to another blog about what they have been getting lately it is called “iwishvirusclean.com” Thanks to this blogs post we been talking the last few hours and a comment was left about no-spyware-thanks.com and this site is of course an personal Antivirus scareware.   They try to scare you into buying there product or downloading a trojan that keeps warning you have a virus so they can still make money.  Which on the same ip this domain is also there “securedvirusscan.com”, I will assume this is also [intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink] site.  Also “iwantsweepviruses.com” Is another [intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink] site, which is also on that domain.  This was just told to me but “thankyouforscan.com” is another domain they are using for the [intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink] site.  You should never download or buy anything from these types of sites.   If you think you have a virus or Trojan, I would recommend doing a complete scan and making sure you have no more scareware on your computer.
