List of Scareware Sites for Aug 10, 2009

When I told you on the last post that today would be a more complete list, I guess I was right:

personalantivirus3

  • antispywareonlinescanv4.com ([intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink])
  • onlinebestscannerv3.com ([intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink])
  • get-rid-of-spyware.com(Possible [intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink] site but is saying 403)
  • best-antivirus-security.com (Clone of [intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink])
  • personalantivirusprotection.com ([intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink])
  • virusscanweb.com ([intlink id=”3114″ type=”post”]WinWebsec Scareware site[/intlink])
  • (I will update during the day as needed)

More than like get-rid-of-spyware.com is the domain they are using right now to scare people into buying or install that [intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink].   Although this won’t help much with those warnings, in fact they will most like just keep hijacking your browser and send you to these pages.   Most of the time they want you to buy there Antivirus and try to persuade you by showing fraudulent software infections on your screen.  These types of software only make money they do not do anything else but to fool the person.   Then there are some sites that just try to alter the look just a little bit to get under the radar!!  You should never download or install software from these types of sites.   They most likely will have trojans, or create an even more scareware situation on the desktop.

More Personal Scareware Aug 9, 2009

personalantivirus3

This is going to be a short list but I am certain tomorrow there will be a bigger list:

  • bestpersonalprotectionv7.com ([intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink])
  • personalfoldercheck.com ([intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware[/intlink])

The Personal Antivirus Scareware is notorious in URL Hijacking or coming up with warnings that your infected so you would buy there software or install there software.   These sites do nothing more than fraud because you pay for nothing and you install trojans or viruses in the first place.    If you think you have the software installed in your system and would like to get rid of it.   I recommend doing a full system and getting that software off your system.

Threat to System : Moderate

Advice : Do a Complete system scan and make sure you don’t have any more hidden malware.

I recommend :

Each one of these sites have something they want to try to get you to do. Some try to fool you into installing software to “Scan” for virus but in reality you are just installing a Trojan. Others like to try to scam you into buying there fake product so they can make money off of you. In reality this software does nothing to provide any virus protection. Sometimes they even use exploits to install onto the system. These usually have Pop ups or warnings saying you have a virus. There might be even a Web browser re director to the site in question. You should never download or install software from an Unknown source. Also you should never buy any product without asking questions.

Threat to System : Moderate

Advice : Do a Complete system scan and make sure you don’t have any more hidden malware.

Personal Antivirus Stash of Sites!! All Scareware

I went exploring and found some sites that are linked back to each other and here are a few sites that have the same “[intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus[/intlink]” scareware that do the same thing.  These are all just waiting to be used for the purpose of selling you the fake stuff.

personalantivirus3

Sites that are on this IP BLOCK (83.133.123.109) and are exactly the same:

  • [intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]purchuasebestsoftwareonline.com
  • buypremiumsubscription.com
  • ieprotectionlist.com[/intlink]

[ad]Sites with the Site advisers are:

  • [intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]ieprotectionlist.com[/intlink]
  • networksecurityadvice.com
  • [intlink id=”3913″ type=”post”]browsersecurityinfo.com[/intlink]
  • [intlink id=”3872″ type=”post”]securitybrowseradviser.com[/intlink]

And are all active and just waiting to start selling this fake scare at moments notice each one looks like either have or will be used in the future to host the content waiting for people to buy this fake product.  You should check out the other articles in this series and be ready for them when they become active.

It is time to install some [intlink id=”2205″ type=”page”]real Antivirus Software[/intlink] and get these fakes off your system if your infected if not it is still a good idea to have them installed.    I would recommend [intlink id=”3884″ type=”post”]SUPERAntiSpyware[/intlink] to help get rid of these infections if you have them or Keep yoru system from getting these infections.

Another Scareware Adviser Site : browsersecurityinfo.com

It looks like “[intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus[/intlink]” Scareware has [intlink id=”3872″ type=”post”]another Scareware adviser[/intlink] on the same iP: “83.133.123.113”

browsersecurityinfocom1

[ad]It is Hosted on “http://browsersecurityinfo.com/” and Does the same thing the [intlink id=”3872″ type=”post”]other Scareware Adviser[/intlink] does and sponsors “http://ieprotectionlist.com/1/”  Which is also [intlink id=”3607″ type=”post”]Personal Antivirus Scareware site[/intlink] that is host to a few dozen places on other sites.

These Sites try to look like legitimate sites and make you believe these are real but My Advise is that you [intlink id=”3884″ type=”post”]run SUPERAntiSpyware[/intlink] and Remove these scareware virus and other Trojans on your system.  These do nothing but slow your system down and stop you from using the system.  Some of these Fake Antiviruses have also been known to [intlink id=”3876″ type=”post”]not allow you to use real antivirus software[/intlink] so you may have to do it from safe mode.

If you need help removing these spyware manually you can check this article to remove it manually.   Please check out my [intlink id=”2205″ type=”page”]Malware resources[/intlink] to better help you protect your system in the future.   I have a few recommendations on my [intlink id=”2205″ type=”page”]Malware resources[/intlink] to help remove these viruses, trojans, and Malware off your system.
