Data Usage and the Straight Talk!
I’ve been using my new HTC Inspire phone for the past month maybe less and all of the sudden, I get a phone call from 1-800-989-1506. What gets me is they say they can cancel my service. I am sorry but if it says unlimited, then is that really false advertising? It really sounds that way with me. Some people have complained about this. I am just really confused about if they would really risk having people make a negative reaction to cutting people’s phone access off because they want to control just how much is UNLIMITED.
So are they willing to Risk a Public Relations extravaganza?
I really don’t know what they are thinking but I do not know if this is a SCAM or just trying to scare me into stopping use of what they call a excessive amount of data usage. If it is truely to be unlimited then they shouldn’t even worry about me. I’m paying the money each month to have the unlimited usage and thus, it seems to be a really troubling about this idea!
Has this Happened to you as well??
I’m really curious as to what Straight Talk has done or said to get you to understand just what is going on. I would love to hear what happened to you and what you did to get to this call from them. Just leave a comment and let me know what you did and how you resolved the problem.

Here in the Philippines, its a false advertising! They say that its unlimited broadband plans but they have what they call "Fair Use Policy" where you can use only up to 16GB of bandwidth (depends on the plan). How frustrated…
I just received the call today. From phones numbers 800-989-1506 and 800-867-7183. To be honest I hung up in them both times Bc they said "hi I'm blah blah from ST, calling Bc of excessive data use blah blah". LOL sorry i know i wish i woulda listen to them but i was half asleep from 3rd shifting. But from my experiences their customer service is lacking and that's a nice way of putting it so I just didn't wanna deal with it at that moment. I already knew what they were gonna say from reading all the threads about straight talks data and their infamous excessive data usage call i read about. But I don't think any of it is a scam I mean unless they start asking for ur SSN. Anyway I have the service on the iPhone, so unless wifi is constantly available it's impossible not to use alot of data but hey it's supposed to be "unlimited", obviously straight talk has their own definition.
The customer service it is absolutely terrible, maybe the worst out of any business I have ever dealt with. I have 4 lines and been with them 3 years. I only deal with it Bc the service is really good in my opinion, it's cheap, no contract and it's so easy to sign up. With all that aside what if everyone finds out that their unlimited plan has restrictions and isn't really unlimited. Say it becomes a big deal and blah blah. Most likely they are gonna change their policy right? Maybe they will say ok no restrictions it's absolutely unlimited. But what if they say all that and they jack up the price? Or instead of unlimited it's gonna be let's say 2gigs. Now for $45 dollars unlimited talk text and 2gig data. That's still a really good deal compared to the big companies. What I'm saying is even tho they break our balls about the data its a good deal and worst case they stop your service. Get another line or sim card under a different name and email address and do it all over again. It's not really that bad. They can change their plans in different ways so that we pay more and get less. But very likely it will still be a whole lot cheaper and we will still get more than AT&T Verizon or tmobile. Straight talk already knows this so if they have to make changes it will only hurt us yet we will still stay with them Bc
It's still better than the competitors. I don't like that their not really unlimited, but it's not that bad. Just don't pick up when they call or if they stop ur service get a new one. You'll have to change ur number and blah blah blah but we are still getting a better deal. I mean if we can fight them and they will keep the same plan but have the unlimited data actually unlimited with no clauses then I'm all for it! Sorry if I'm rambling or repeating myself but I'm still half asleep. So back to bed!!
i think this is a scam its called the UNLIMITED TALK TEXT DATA plan but it has a limit
why call it unlimited if it has one somone needs to bye them a dictionary
