  • New Stuff for the Channel Store:

If you haven’t visited the Channel Store lately, I wanted to talk about the new channels that have been installed since previous mentioning of this.

    • Radiotime
    • Nasa TV
    • Film Fun 5
    • Radio Paradise
    • Blastro
    • Liberty News Radio

Premium Channels:

  • MHZ On Demand
  • Midwest Caged Championship
  • Weiss Money Network
  • BigStar.Tv

I am really glad they are adding more channels and making it easier to use theRoku.   Even though Netflix hadproblems with the last update, this seems a good step for those of us who like to listen to Music or watch a Space shuttle Take off.

I am hoping they will add Hulu to the Channel Lineup in a couple of months.  We have heard about the possiblility from many sources about Hulu becoming a subscription, and this would be one of the many Hulu would want to develop for.  If you haven’t bought a Roku maybe it is time to go check them out!!

Troubled Waters with Roku and Netflix

I know some people have been having problems with Roku and I wanted to comment and tell you how to fix it. You will need to go to your Roku settings and Disable the browse and search feature. This seems to have fixed my issue but I still wanted to warn people how to fix the problem with “Retrieving…” in the NetflixWindow and getting the error message “unable to connect to Netflix at this time” messages. If your getting these message try deactivating the search feature. Although a quick not people are want to roll back to the earlier version of Netflix. I do hope they fix this problem because I really did like the search feature!!

Anyone else having these Problems??

UPDATE 10/21/10

If your are unable to connect to the Netflix through the Roku box, there is a quick way to watch shows from your queue. This has worked for me in the past! Go into your Settings and under Netflix disable “Browse and Search in Netflix” to be able to watch shows and movies from your Roku box!!

Did the Xbox Experience break netflix on Demand activation?

[ad#ad2-left]According to Google Trends people are trying to activate there Xbox Experience with Netflix.  This could be a problem for Netflix, I just tried and they are extremely slow in response.   I am willing to guess that later on tonight the Netflix will go down when everyone comes home from work and tries the new Xbox Experience with Netflix.   I’ve heard of problems with activating the Netflix on the Xbox 360, this will become 10 times as bad tonight when people want to hook up and try out this new service from Netflix.   Microsoft should of released this one day at a time for each time zone.   Some blogs talking about the problems that might come along with the update are:

Although this is just a few that talks about the experience and Netflix problems there are going to be more tonight when people start to come home from work wanting this service.   I would bet over 100$ it will probably go down because to many request to sign up!! I hope they have the IT guys ready for this tonight or it will be a long night!!

Netflix Online Video Becomes All-You-Eat Tomorrow; Can It Compete With iTunes Video Rentals?

everybody%20part.jpg

We had heard that unlimited online viewing had been granted to select Netflix subscribers last month, and suspected it’d get a full rollout soon. Well, soon is tomorrow—as the AP notes, a day before MacWorld, where Apple is expected to unveil its video rental-killer rendition of iTunes.

The only people who aren’t getting cut in to the infinite viewing parade are the cheapos who only rent a pair of DVDs a month for $5. Whether or not turning the stream access into a smorgasbord is enough to fend off the looming iTunes threat is doubtful—Mac-compatibility would be a nice little shot to the balls, though—but it’s not like Netflix is totally without a battle plan for the infinite format war. Now get your Netflix accounts now. You will never be without a movie. I hope to see everyone buying a subscription to them. I thought I’d share my view on the whole matter!!
